Heart Failure

Heart Failure is a syndrome of fatigue and shortness of breath due to cardiac dysfunction. Heart dysfunction can be categorized by how well the heart pumps blood. This measurement is called ejection fraction or LVEF. About half of people with heart failure have a abnormally low ejection fraction (HFrEF) and about half have a "preserved" ejection fraction (HFpEF).

Although over the past 20 years many new medications have been proven to increase the survival of people with heart failure, there remains a large need to improve symptoms and quality of life.

We are enrolling volunteers for a 12 month study evaluating a new medical treatment.
